Hourly Trader - Raleigh, NC

This position will be responsible for the management of generation and native load requirements of any participating member or client. This position will be accountable for generation and load scheduling, demand side management, transmission purchases, energy transactions, market interaction, hourly sales of member’s generation or contract resources and purchasing as required.

Intern – Carmel, IN

ACES is a nationwide energy management company that helps its owners and customers buy, sell, and manage energy more efficiently and with less risk. ACES began operations in 1999 with a focus on supporting four organizations. Today, ACES provides services to over 50 organizations consisting of electric cooperatives, investor-owned utilities, municipalities, public power agencies, independent power producers, renewable energy providers, industrial customers, and financial institutions. Since 1999, ACES has grown from 33 employees to over 250. This growth has presented career opportunities, new challenges, and a dynamic, energetic work environment. To be eligible for the ACES Internship Program, students must meet the following criteria.

Natural Gas Trader - Carmel, IN

This position will be responsible for executing physical natural gas transactions in support of client gas generation assets. Primary responsibilities include procuring natural gas for electric power generation, scheduling natural gas, and managing natural gas imbalances.

IT Compliance Specialist - Carmel, IN

This position is responsible for initiating and tracking IT compliance related activities, including but not limited to SOC 1, ISSP, and NERC CIP. This position will perform various reconciliations and checks as part of established activities designed to achieve and maintain compliance. Additionally, this position will coordinate with other groups to collect, analyze, and report on activities designed and implemented to achieve compliance objectives. This position must adhere to, administer, and maintain ISSP, SOC 1, and NERC CIP compliant IT practices and procedures.

Senior Hourly Trader - Raleigh, NC

This position will be responsible for the management of resource and native load requirements of participating members and clients. This role will be inclusive of asset optimization, resource and load scheduling, demand side management, transmission purchases, energy transactions, hourly sales of generation or contract resources and spot purchasing as required.

Front Desk Administrative Assistant (Part-time Mon-Fri) – Carmel, IN

Part-time/flexible schedule - Monday through Friday. This position will be responsible for performing Administrative Assistant duties in an accurate and timely manner for the staff of ACES. In addition, this position will assist in planning, coordinating and implementing administrative functions of the company.

Trader - Raleigh, NC

This position will participate and support the scheduling and trading teams’ efforts regarding all aspects of the ACES Customers’ portfolio optimization. Responsibilities will include the areas of trade strategy development, native load support, transaction execution, energy scheduling, as well as, load management and transmission purchases. The processes and procedures surrounding this environment will be reviewed, developed and supported by this position.

Hourly Trader - Benson, AZ

This position will be responsible for the management of generation and native load requirements of any participating member or client. This position will be accountable for generation and load scheduling, demand side management, transmission purchases, energy transactions, market interaction, hourly sales of member’s generation or contract resources and purchasing as required.

Transmission Engineer/Analyst – Carmel, IN

This position will be selected and assigned to an on-the-job training program in the Transmission Services Group while providing technical detail and support to the Transmission Analysts in relation to model(s) set up, data mining, report writing, trade verification and participation in industry training. This position will also use the provided training to become more involved in consulting work and everyday trade strategies for members and customers. The Transmission Engineer I will also be responsible for providing support and answering questions relating to the physical operation of the transmission grid. The Engineer’s time will be divided approximately as follows: 30% trading, 50% engineering, 20% consulting work.

Data Scientist - Any Office

The Portfolio Analytics team has a significant quantity of organized data, both client specific data and general market data, in which this position adds insight and meaning to through their work. This position will be responsible for providing analysis and insight into actual economic performance of client portfolios to the Traders, other internal teams, as well as external clients through regular reporting and ad hoc analysis. This position will interface frequently with the Traders, creating a feedback loop to aid in decision-making.
